REFLECTING ON 2024
The end of the year is often a good time to reflect on the challenges, growth and milestones that have defined the year. Oftentimes most of us focus on things that have not gone the way that we expected them to go; we pay attention to the negatives and downplay the positives. As 2024 is fast drawing to a close, we at BTH Therapy choose to focus on some of the things that have gone well.
We have seen many of our clients make considerable progress in embracing self-awareness and personal growth, diving deep into understanding their emotions and behaviors. This journey has allowed them to identify their limiting beliefs, reframe their negative thoughts, and make more intentional choices in alignment with their core values.
For many of them, overcoming mental health struggles has been a key achievement; with anxiety, depression, and stress being met with new coping strategies, techniques, and support networks. Their ‘bounce-back’ and healing rate has been astounding.
A lot of them have also honed their communication skills, speaking frankly but with respect and kindness, setting boundaries, and offering support to significant people in their lives. These skills have improved connections, strengthened personal ties and also contributed to their professional growth.
Goals set at the beginning of the year have been pursued with determination, whether through career advancement, education, or personal development. The courage to take bold steps towards their aspirations has brought a sense of accomplishment and pride to quite a lot of them.
In Nigeria where we have faced a huge hike in the cost of living, these difficulties have proven to be opportunities for growth for many of these precious clients of ours. Navigating transitions, loss, and unexpected changes have strengthened their character and sense of resolve. Alongside these environmental challenges, prioritizing self-care has been a critical theme for many of them. By focusing on their well-being, lots of them have started to create healthy routines to support both their mental and physical health.
Reflecting on the year from this positive perspective combined with our commitment to growth and continuing self development has helped us to experience 2024 as a year of profound changes and lasting impact in our lives and the lives of those we have served.
With a very deep sense of gratitude, we want to say to each of our clients, “…because you said it, you slayed it…” Do have a beautiful holiday as we all look forward to a much more pleasant and fulfilling new year.
